A Canadian Tiger Swallowtail. Expanding my subject matter, I chose to paint this butterfly because of its beautiful contrast and red wing patches. A few months after painting this I was gardening in my yard when a Swallowtail landed on my thigh (believe me or not!) - it was a sweet little moment.
